Manzil is a space where teachers are students, and students are teachers. We are a youth-led non-profit, that enables useful learning of children and youth from primarily low-income backgrounds. We emphasize real-life and not just academic learning, to fill in for the mostly sterile public education students receive at their schools, not only do we make education more effective and inclusive, but also more empowering.
As an open learning community, Manzil is as much about young people learning as it is about them sharing it forward with others.
Manzil is led and managed by an 8-member manzillion-alumni full-time core team - Manzil students who have grown, and are continuing to grow, through the singular experience of nurturing this learning community of learners and teachers. They are the glue that holds our learning community together.
We are fundraising to pay for their salaries for the year 2021, so they can continue to devote themselves full-time to serve this extraordinary learning community.
Supporting the salary of one core team member costs an average of USD 300 per month.
Meet some of our core team members here, sharing (in Hindi) how Manzil innovated to go completely online when the pandemic hit, reaching far beyond New Delhi, increasing our students by 50%.
In 22 years of its existence, Manzil has directly touched the lives of about 15,000 young people, but this count is incomplete and doesn’t quite tell the whole story. With their uncommonly rich experiences, Manzillions have over the years set up a number of social entrepreneurial & intrapreneurial initiatives reaching out to many many more. The Manzil Entre Cell is currently supporting 9 such initiatives.
Thank you for supporting Manzil. We can't fully express what a difference you make to the lives of children and youth in our learning community and we are thrilled to welcome YOU to our learning community. Thank you again.
